What is it?
Business Blooms is a sponsorship program, in which professional firms get a beautiful bouquet of fresh, locally grown cut flowers delivered to their office or to their clients weekly to support Common Roots Urban Farm, a community farm on hospital land in downtown Halifax. Businesses get beautiful flowers to show both their gratitude for their clients or their own staff and their commitment to making their community a better place.
Flowers are delivered weekly for 12 weeks during the prime growing season (on Tuesdays or Thursdays from July 4 to September 19) to locations of your choosing – either your office or directly to clients. In addition to looking great to your staff and clients, you will receive a tax receipt for $1250. You’ll also be recognized as a sponsor in our marketing and website.
What does it cost?
Business Blooms costs $2000, for $750 (including HST) in bouquets delivered over 12 weeks plus a $1250 donation to support Common Roots Urban Farm.
Why support Common Roots?
As a piece of health infrastructure, Common Roots Urban Farm (CRUF) connects over 400 active volunteers to physical activity and healthy eating. Our social enterprise Market Garden grows food for wholesale (to the hospital and local restaurants), retail (at our on-farm market stand), and donation; we donated over 1000 pounds of fresh, healthy produce to the people in our community who need it most – like food bank users to farm volunteers on income assistance.
