Every year, we aim to give 25 community garden plots at a discounted rate to people living on a low income. We know that for people on low incomes, $40 is a lot of money. And, that the ability to grow fresh healthy food in community, means a lot.
We turn to our generous community to help Pay It Forward, to contribute the remaining funds to help cover these costs. This year, we have a Pay It Forward option on our community garden paypal payment option. So far, we have $210 of our $500 target, so thank you everyone who has contributed!!! Most returning plotters are contributing to this fund, something that really affirms the value of the farm and the community being created.
