New plots thanks to Home Depot

On Friday June 2, Team Home Depot, from the Halifax store, came to support Common Roots Urban Farm through building 10 new community garden plots.

We have such a long waiting list, it is great to get a few more spaces.  Over the next week or so we will work on filling them with garden soil and getting new gardeners into them.

These beds are made with a new pressure treatment that is safer than the old green pressure treatment.  If you’re curious about it, here is a good article about how it’s different, and the safety of using it.

Thanks so much to Team Depot Halifax for their genuine support and enthusiasm for the farm.  It was fun to work together and affirming to hear their encouragement.
