Once again, we are going to participate in the Participatory Budgeting for District 7.  Please come vote for us, if you live in Halifax South End.  More details below – from Counsellor Mason’s newsletter.

VOTE 2017 – Participatory Budgeting in District 7

Participatory Budgeting voting takes place next week, Wednesday, June 14, 2017 | 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, at the Lindsay Children’s Room, Halifax Central Library

Sure you all voted for some other thing a few weeks ago, but now it is time for the real deal!

Come and review the proposed projects present for a Science Fair Show-and-Tell style so you can ask the questions about each funding proposal.

Residents of District 7 get to choose five seperate projects they wanted to get funded. Each presenting group is encouraged to flood the vote with their supporters, but their supports have to vote on five separate projects for the ballot to be counted!

Over 335 residents participated in the discussion with project sponsors and voted throughout the course of the evening in 2015. Votes were tallied that evening and the funded projects announced that night.

Residents of all ages, permanent residents and residents on student visas are allowed to vote! Bring your children!
