9th Annual Harvest Hootenanny and Pumpkin Smash: The COVID Edition
Like so many things this year, the Harvest Hootenanny and Pumpkin Smash is going to look a little different but we’re really grateful that this event is able to move forward with a few changes.
With distancing in place, we can still smash pumpkins and take home delicious food. Details of how this will all work are below:
What will happen at the Hootenanny this year?
A draw for three prize packs for all who attend.
Snack packs: with a cookie, seeds, and an apple.
Sadly, we’ve decided not to have music this year as we don’t want to encourage people to linger.
How are we keeping safe, moving through the space?
Entering the farm: Park in the Bayers Road Centre lot and cross the crosswalk. We’ll have a sign in sheet here and will ask for your contact info. This is for contact tracing and also because, at this point, you will be entered in a draw for one of three Hootenanny prizes.
Moving through the farm: There will be signage and guided pathways to support the safe flow of people through the site.
Next stop, pumpkin smashing: We’ll set up three, well separated smashing stations. One bubble can smash at each station (so bring your friends!). If you can, please bring your own tools. We’ll also have disinfectant for common tools used between groups.
Head for the food: Follow the path for a little garden tour and to pick up a pre-registered meal and/or treat bag.
Wander back to the lot: Follow the marked path back to the parking lot on Bayers Road.
